Wednesday 10 September: Praia do Malhao

It’s a bit overcast first thing but forecasted to improve. We breakfast outside and load up the bike panniers for a day in the beach. The cycle is worse than I’d remembered. Quite a busy road and then terribly uneven dirt track. So rutted it feels like we’re having seizures! The beach is however as beautiful as we’d remembered and not so much busier. The waves are certainly threatening and at lower tide we can go under but later on we are just paddling realty. The hours seem to disappear and as the early evening draws in we manage the cycle home. Simon cooks tortilla with fresh crisp lettuce from the campsite supermarket and avocado. Delicious. It’s a lively warm and still evening.
